we run for joe

Two years ago I was a freshman in highschool and I decided to join the cross country team. I met a lot of nice caring people, but out of them all Joe was the more caring. He was a senior and he told me and everyone else about how he was preparing himself to join the Marines. He only ate healthy foods and ran many many miles a day. He was a terrific runner, and on top of that he never complained, always listened, and won races. He was one of the most influencial people I have met in my life so far. He made me and the other runners want to go out in 100 degree weather and push our selves to run 8 miles. Well one day after school he was riding his scooter to meet his best friends, and a lady hit him with her car. He died from the hit, and everyone was just in absolute shock. We xc runners grieved with his sister, who was on the team, and were supporting eachother. This happened on September 9th, 2007. Today is his borthday and I am writing this blog in rememberance of his great determination and spirit. We all miss him so much and he will always be considered a friend, and will definantly always be in everyone's memories. We run for Joe. Happy Birthday and Rest In Peace.

9.11.09 re-cap

Hello lovely people!! :]

As I talked about before, we (asb) had our first rally of the year on September 11, 2009. It turned out pretty amazing! It took a long time to get everything organized and ready, but it was worth the work. The kids thought it was super sick and they were really excited once we turned the lights off and got it started. Since it was September 11th we decided to start off saying the pledge and having a moment of silence. I was so proud that my class (juniors) all stood, all said the pledge, and all cheered on their class. We out shined the seniors, sophomores, and freshman that day. Our spirit comissioners did an outstanding job pulling this off. Nothing went wrong during the rally, except some kids breaking some glow sticks open but it was no big deal. In all all the kids at both rallys had an awesome time, and so did ASB.
Our dance we did was the one Napoleon Dynamite does in his movie. It was pretty much super funny, and everybody cheered on Mrs.Martin as she did it with us. I think one of the greatest moments during the rally was after Chris Escobar danced during the 2nd rally. He did an MJ tribute dance. Everyone in every class stood up and cheered so loud for him. When he was finished, the Jr. Football players ran down and picked him up. He was eating that shit up, but he deserved it, he is an awesome dancer.

NEXT RALLY IS IN 3 WEEKS! YES...THREE.

Yes, Ive been to other states....
but thats not what I mean.
I want to go mostly to:
-Africa
-France
-Panama
-Australia
-Japan
-Ireland
-Russia

Yeah so pretty much around the world haha
but I just think that the world has so much more
to offer everyone than they have already,
you just have to go out and explore it.

This is something I will definitely do after or during college.
I honestly cant wait to see something other than California.
